'Casa degli Angeli' homestead, 350 m a.s.l., is located in a valley
full of olive trees, orange trees and vineyards. In it is an excellent
starting point to explore a very interesting part of Sicily. This
12 ha homestead produces a pleasant red wine, olive oil, oranges,
vegetables and fruit.

By car, from the Catania-Gela expressway exit at
the Caltagirone junction and follow SP 29 provincial road to Niscemi
for 8.5 km. The Ast-Sitas bus stops outside the homestead. Caltagirone
railway station is 8.5 km, Catania Fontanarossa airport is 70 km
away.

Guests are put up in a recently restored 19`" century
house; there are 4 rooms available with ensuite bathrooms, all furnished
with period pieces, sleeping 11 in total. The homestead is open
all year round, no minimum stay. Campers and caravans are allowed
as long as you dine in the restaurant.

The homestead has a bowls ground and a playground.
One can go mountain biking. There is a horse riding centre and other
sports facilities 15 km away.
'Casa degli Angeli' serves simple tasty dishes, prepared
according to ancient recipes. Ravioli filled spinach and ricotta,
tagliatelle with pork ragout sauce, pennette 'alla rustica', pasta
with grated toasted bread and wild fennel, pasta 'alla norma', beans
and pigskin, rabbit with peppers, baked lamb and, for dessert, `cassatelle'
with sweet ricotta and granny's cream, all washed down with an exquisite
home made limoncello liqueur.
Fornaturel overs, the S. Pietro forest is some 10
km away. At the same distance there is magnificent Caltagirone,
the capital of majolica ceramics where on July 24" - 25" a festival
has been held since 1800, which strikingly illuminates the ceramic
steps of Scala del Monte with flaming multicoloured paper cones.
The Villa del Casale of Piazza Armerina and Palazzolo Acreide are
50 km away. Branching in a different direction, a little bit further,
one can visit wonderful Ibla, the ancient part of Ragusa, and Modica.
